Cafe Beaujolais was recommended to us over twenty years ago and remains one of our favorites today. Located one mile south of the Blue Heron in the village. Reservations are recommended. Now open for lunch.
Little River Inn is a great place to watch the sunset from Ole's Whale Watch Bar. The main dining room has large picture windows with views to a wonderful garden. Egg's Benedict for breakfast is a favorite. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bar menus.
Albion River Inn is another one of our long time favorites. Tables by the window are the best and being in the middle can be noisey but who cares...the food is so yummy. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary be sure to let them know. Oh, and if you like scotch, they have over 140 single malts from Scotland.
Chapter and Moon
32150 N. Harbor Drive
Fort Bragg, CA 95437
Someone left a sample menu in our referrence binder at the house and it almost went into the trash as we don't recommend businesses we haven't frequented ourselves. So off to the harbor! Some of the best fish tacos Saundra has ever had are prepared "on the weber out back". No frills dining, just good tasting food. Take Hwy 1 North from the house, go past Hwy 20 and over the harbor bridge, hang a right onto N. Harbor Drive and follow it to almost the very end. This little gem will be on your left just as you start thinking its not there. Lunch and dinner are served.
Mendocino, CA 95460
This place is hidden behind Mendocino Bakery on Lansing Street. If you're facing the Bakery, look up and to the left. Do you see the giant burger? Follow the path to some great burgers. Everything is made to order including the fries from a whole potato - nothing frozen here but the Its It sandwiches.
Located in the Boatyard Shopping Center
Fort Bragg, CA 95437
This is a local favorite and for good reason... they've got great food. Breakfast and lunch are served.
Eggheads is a place we never miss when we're in town. Nine times out of ten you'll have to wait some amount of time but they are just that good. Always busy, always tasty. Breakfast and lunch is served.
Moody's Organic Coffee Bar is a great little place on Lansing Street in the Village across from the Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department. Across the small hallway you can enjoy your java and muffin while surfing in their internet cafe.
Headlands Coffeehouse If your heading into Fort Bragg and need a bit of caffeine to keep you shopping then head towards the Headlands Coffeehouse located on Laurel Street. They also have live music every night, local art, and a cafe menu.
North Coast Brewing is on the north end of Fort Bragg. Eric always orders the garlic fries to go with a pint of locally crafted beer. NCB has a bar area and a dining area which is nice if your taking the kids. Tours of the brewery have been temporarily discontinued until their current expansion project is complete.
Patterson's Pub has 6 plasma TVs and 14 brews on tap. The will be the first to tell you they are "the best stocked bar north of the Golden Gate". If you want loud, local, TV, beer, and bar chow this is the place.
Papa Bear's Chocolate Haus - can we just say YUM! We dare you to watch them make their chocolatety goodness from the the large store front window and not go in.
Cowlick's makes hand made ice cream locally. Great treat no matter how old you are. Saundra likes the Mushroom ice cream, give it a try, it's good!
